I see it so clear,
these things that you fear.

But we are fierce,

Warriors in this life,

How short is a week,
how long an hour?

Time-

Trapped in my mind.

As real as the wind,
touching my skin.

Like stars in the dark,
I hang captured in suspense.

Beckons the beginning and
end of life's breath.

Held in the heart of a longing lover,
in the wings of a caged bird,
the bosom of a mourning mother.

Time-

You've stolen me,
I shan't  recover.

Cold mistress in warm light

Love beats down,
everyone hears the sound.

Love leaves me,
it's stained the streets beneath me.

Love clings by a thread,
the weight is heavy in my chest.

Love flees,
the bindings weak, now nothing left to see.

Love a cold winters mistress,
as naked as the barren trees.

Love a kindled flame,
as faint as the morning beam.

Love never defeated,
reborn for one that will complete it.
